Good for documents but not for photos About the size of a small rolling pin and weighing just 12.8 ounces in its cloth carrying pouch this scanner fits easily in a computer bag, is powered by the computer's USB port and does a decent job of scanning documents. One very nice feature is its ability to scan directly into a portable document format (PDF) without the need for owning Adobe Acrobat, but I was unimpressed with its OCR (optical character recognition) software capabilities and the quality of its scanned photos. Excel support wonderful and awful First things first; this product requires Microsoft Office software to work; version 2003 or above. The scanner software will not install if you do not have Office. The... more info

The first change I noticed was a small ledge in front of the input slot. This makes it *much* easier to get a document inserted correctly. And there's a little icon that shows you which end of the slot to align the document at, also very handy. However, it's not very clear from the icon that the document goes in face down! The driver... more info
