BORING I like to finish books that I start. I haven't quite finished this one yet, and I'm having a REALLY hard time getting through it. I keep waiting for something to happen. I'm about 3/4 of the way thru it and nothing yet. This is a really boring book and nothing like Plum Island. I wish I had read the 1 star reviews before I purchased it.
I liked this book. Ok, truth be told, my wife bought this book at a used bookstore because it was purple and it matched some candle that she had. So, the book sat on its side in the bathroom for 2 years with a candle on it until one day when I needed something to read. No joke. I couldn't put the book down and loved the story. I'm a big mafia buff so the Don's involvement was fascinating to me. I'll definitely read more of DeMille's work.
Mary from Novi Boring at the beginning - but gets good in about the middle (and is great at the end). Not one of DeMille's best though.
One of the Greats As so many have already said, this is simply a great book and a must read for anyone seriously interested in nonfiction novels. Probably DeMille's best effort.
