The Character Development is Amazing!! This is the third in the House of Night series. I am just flabbergasted that the character development continues to deepen. The characters become more and more demensional. I have read the Twilight series and loved that--but this story is so different and as equally engrossing. I love the spiritual take on vampires the authors use. So-So While this book was enjoyable, it was a disappointment compared to the first two books in the House of Night series. Chosen focuses mainly on the love trapezoid Zoey is in between her Marked boyfriend, Imprinted ex-boyfriend, and vampyre professor. While it's nice to see these messy relationships of hers finally get resolved, they overshadow more important -- and more interesting -- plotlines in the book. Maybe a wee bit too far... I'll admit, there's a scene in this book that has my inner adolescent teenage girl squealing and my adult self cringing. I can see the point of it in the context of the storyline, and I understand that it is just fiction, but still. It makes me uneasy in a lot of ways. If you haven't read it, cover your eyes for the next few lines, because it's a pivotal part of the book and I can't really give any credibility to the review without talking about it. Decent Bought the series after I read the Twilight set. Not quite up to par with that series. But still a decent read. Took me a while to get into them.
